5 Weirdest Diseases

1. Hypertrichosis describes hair growth on the body in an amount considered abnormal;[1][2]extensive cases of hypertrichosis have informally been called werewolf syndrome.[3]There are two distinct types of hypertrichosis: generalized hypertrichosis, which occurs over the entire body, and localized hypertrichosis, which is restricted to a certain area.


2. Progeria  is an extremely rare genetic condition wherein symptoms resembling aspects of aging are manifested at an early age. Few people with progeria exceed 13 years of age.[17] At least 90% of patients die from complications of atherosclerosis, such as heart attack or stroke.


3. Epidermodysplasia verruciformis is an extremely rare autosomal recessive genetic hereditary skin disorder associated with a high risk of carcinoma of the skin. It is characterized by abnormal susceptibility to human papillomaviruses (HPVs) of the skin.


4. Filariasis (Elephantiasis) is a parasitic and is considered an infectious tropical disease, that is caused by thread-like filarial nematode worms in the superfamily Filarioidea, also known as "filariae".


5. People with Pica have an insatiable urge to eat non-food substances (claycoalsoilfeceschalkpapersoapmucusash, etc.). Though it is believed to be linked with mineral deficiency, health experts have found no real cause and no cure for this disorder. 

Conclusion: We don't know how lucky we are!
